One of the strengths of solar PV is that it requires relatively little ongoing attention. But low maintenance does not mean no maintenance.
What periodic inspection catches
A panel underperforming. An inverter behaving slightly out of character. A connection that needs attention before it becomes a problem. Vegetation that has grown into a shading position over three summers. Fixings that have worked loose.
None of these are dramatic. All of them cost generation, and none of them announce themselves.
Remote monitoring does the day-to-day watching
Monitoring provides visibility of output in real time and flags behaviour that falls outside expected patterns. It does not replace an inspection, but it tells you when one is needed, and it means a fault is measured in days rather than discovered at the next annual visit.
The aim is not to create work. It is to protect the return that was expected when the system was first installed.
What our maintenance contracts cover
- Yearly inspection of the array, mounting and electrical connections
- Panel cleaning where site conditions warrant it
- Inverter performance review against design expectations
- 24/7 remote monitoring with alerting
- Written performance reporting you can put in front of a board
The engineers who installed your system are the ones who maintain it.
